②为课堂教学提供理论性指导。教育心理学为实际教学提供了一般性的原则和技术， 有助于教师结合自己的实际情况把它变成一定的教学程序或活动，从而推进教学。例如， 根据直接指导教学原理，对教学的步骤进行程序化的安排。
③帮助教师分析、预测并干预学生的行为。学习教育心理学，可以使教师更好地分析学生行为的原因，并能够采取合理的办法进行干预，从而达到良好的效果。例如，在处理 学生问题时，教师的处理正确与否直接影响学生的行为遵守情况。
(2)研究方法上的指导：
①帮助教师应用研究的方法来处理问题。学生的情况是千差万别的，一旦学生出现了学习上的问题，教师可以利用心理学的知识对学生进行分析，找出问题和困难的原因，从而促进其学业获得进步。例如，一名学生如果在语文阅读方面存在困难，我们就可以从各种测验结果中找到困难的症结，从而对症下药，促进提高。
②帮助教师结合教学实际进行创造性的、持续的研究教育学提供知识理论指导，并不是解决问题的公式。因此，教师在利用这些原理进行教学时还要进行创造性的研究，去验证这些原理并解决自己的特定问题。应该因人因事因地因时而相机行事，不断反思，随时作出相应的变动。
