【要点】研究者倾向于将问题分为两类：有结构的问题或界定清晰的问题与无结构的问题或界定含糊的问题。
(1)有结构的问题。已知条件和要达到的目标都非常明确，个体按一定的思维方式即可获得答案的问题。这种问题通常具有两个特征：①问题有明确性，即问题的目标很明确，解决者知道需要达到什么样的目标；问题的条件也明确，且问题的条件和目标可以对应起来。②解法的稳定性，即有明确的算法规则，可经过一定的推理转换得到答案，且答案是唯一的。比如“349 +180 = ”即是有结构的问题。
(2)无结构的问题。已知条件与要达到的目标都比较含糊，问题情境不明确，各种影响因素不确定，不易找出解答线索的问题。此类问题在实际中经常遇到，也容易使人感到困惑，如怎样造就天才儿童 怎样培养学生的创新意识 这些都是重要的但又无确切的、唯一正确的答案的问题。
